Special Advisor for Global Youth Issues Ronan Farrow will travel to Europe March 19-24, holding meetings in Belgium, Latvia, and Ukraine.
In Brussels, Belgium Mr. Farrow will head the U.S. delegation participating in the “Engaging Youth: Palestinian Refugees in a Changing Middle East” stakeholder meeting on March 19-20, sponsored by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. He will also engage European youth leaders on how young people can be empowered as economic and civic participants in their communities.
In Riga, Latvia March 21-22, Mr. Farrow will meet with politically active youth from all sectors of society, including youth from minority communities and youth with disabilities. Additionally, he will hold a discussion with local high school students on “Why Your Voice Matters” and meet with young entrepreneurs at the Kurzeme Business Incubator.
On March 23, Mr. Farrow will chair the inaugural meeting of U.S. Embassy’s Youth Council in Kiev, Ukraine. He will also deliver remarks at the Docudays International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival and meet with students. At the U.S. Ambassador’s Forum on March 23, Mr. Farrow will lead a break out session with young leaders and law professionals looking at the next generation and the struggle against corruption. The Forum will feature a presentation by Beau Biden, Delaware Attorney General, on the topic "Fighting Corruption and the Judiciary."
