New UN Report Condemns Blockade On Gaza
A new UN report says Israel should halt its blockade of Gaza and urgently allow all construction materials necessary for rebuilding homes and civilian infrastructure into the strip. The report also slams Israel's racist segregation and home demolitions policies. Kia Ora Gaza team member Tali Williams says "With the world's most powerful governments refusing to hold Israel to account, it is essential that people of conscience step up their commitment". The UN report highlights the importance of the Kiwi team joining next month's Viva Palestina Arabia international aid convoy breaking the blockade to take construction materials to the people of Gaza. Williams called for support to "help us raise the last few thousand dollars needed to make this happen" by visiting the sidebar at www.kiaoragaza.net.
More information, including an advance copy of the UN/CERD report can be found from the link on the Kia Ora Gaza website article. Link: “Concluding observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination,” 9 March 2012 [PDF].
