Research Assistant (ACP/EU)

The Forum Secretariat is looking to appoint a qualified person to the position of Research Assistant (ACP/EU). This position reports to the Director, Economic Governance Programme through the Trade Policy Adviser (ACP/EU).

The officer will assist the Trade Policy Adviser (ACP/EU) to deliver specific tasks arising from mandates provided by the Forum Economic Ministers’ meeting and other relevant meetings, and will be accountable for:


  • Providing technical support and assistance to the EPA negotiations as well as EPA implementation through data management and dissemination, at the direction of the Trade Policy Adviser;

  • Assisting with the management of meetings and negotiations;

  • Coordinating logistics for meetings and negotiations, and related consultancies; and

  • Managing Economic Governance Programme website content

Applicants should have a university degree in economics, trade or other related disciple with relevant work experience. They must demonstrate a high level of initiative with the ability to think laterally and to identify innovative solutions. Applicants must also have good analytic skills and the ability to master new materials quickly, and possess an excellent meeting and logistics management skills.

The salary range is F$19,143 to F$28,715 dependent on skills and experience and includes the provision of life and medical insurance.
