On the day of The Global March to Jerusalem British Organisations To Organise A Protest In Front Of The Israeli Embassy In London

Representatives of many solidarity, Arab and Islamic British organisations met on Monday the 13 th to discuss British participation in the Global March to Jerusalem set to take place globally on 30 th March 2012, with the participation of hundreds of popular organisations and NGOs in a number of countries worldwide.
Participants in the meeting yesterday included the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Stop the War coalition, British Muslim Initiative (BMI), Friends of Al-Aqsa, the Islamic Forum of Europe (UK branch),Viva Palestina, Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB) and the Association of Palestinian Community (APC). Attendees also included a representative of the Palestinian embassy in the UK.
Sarah Colborne the well known British activist and Executive Director of the PSC, the largest British campaign in solidarity with Palestine, was elected as the president of the Global March- British Committee. Alongside 2 other members they will represent Europe in the GMJ International central committee. Participants also decided to organise a protest in front of the Israeli embassy in London on the same day as the Global March, on 30 th March 2012.
Zaher Birawi, member of the International Executive Committee and spokesperson of the GMJ, said that these meetings aimed at organising the European participation are part of a global movement seen in different countries all over the world in preparation for this historical day where people of the world will make their voices heard in condemnation of the occupation and its acts against Jerusalem, its people and the sacred Muslims and Christian holy sites. He added: “our message on this day will be that Jerusalem is a red line and people around the world will not remain silent while Judaisation and ethnic cleansing is taking place in the holy city and against its population”.
A larger meeting will take place next week in London for European organisations and institutions taking part in the March to discuss the plans and arrangements for the Global March in Europe.
