The TIPNIS Affair: Indigenous Conflicts and the Limits on “Pink Tide” States Under Capitalist Realities
Although Bolivian President Evo Morales recently signed an agreement with indigenous groups clarifying the law that banned the construction of a highway through native territory, the controversy continues. But the TIPNIS affair is not merely a simple disagreement between a subset of indigenous groups and the MAS government; there remain several related conflicts about which few English-language outlets have reported.
