Open letter to the Anglican Church by CEC National Secretary Craig Isherwood
The Anglican Public Affairs Commission (APAC) has made a submission to the Federal Government’s Sustainable Population Strategy for Australia inquiry which uses the Church’s name to promote a genocidal and racist agenda to reduce Australia’s population.
Although the Commission’s submission attracted widespread publicity for its call to scrap the baby bonus, its actual content amounted to a chilling demand for the eradication of human beings, based upon the emphatically anti-Christian and anti-human ideas of the co-authors of Overloading Australia, Mark O’Connor and William Lines.
The submission is also an echo of the extreme statements by HRH Prince Philip, the consort of the titular head of the Anglican Church, likening the human population to a flock of sheep to be “culled”, and expressing his personal desire to be reincarnated “as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”
Does the Anglican Church believe in the Christian principle that human life is sacred, because human beings are made in the image of God, and possess the divine spark of creativity?
How does it reconcile that principle with the Anglican Public Affairs Commission’s declaration that human activity is the root cause of current environmental stress and climate change; and “overpopulation”—of human beings—is the number one catastrophic threat facing the earth?
Does the Church endorse the anti-Christian philosophy of Mark O’Connor, William Lines, Kelvin Thomson, and Tim Flannery, whose work formed the basis for the Commission’s submission? For example:
Mark O’Connor is a founder of Sustainable Population Australia, which advocates a Chinese-style one child policy for Australia, and a racist immigration program which would exclude immigrants from developing countries on the grounds that moving to Australia would raise their living standards.
William Lines is avowedly
anti-humanist, who despises the creative nature of human
beings, and characterises humanity as a permanent threat to
nature.
Kelvin Thomson MHR is a member of the notorious
Fabian Society, the 19th Century British founders of which,
such as H.G. Wells, advocated racial genocide to achieve
global population reduction. Thomson is known for his adage
that Australia can’t reduce its carbon footprint without
reducing the number of footprints.
Professor Tim Flannery heads up Prince Philip’s depopulation agenda in Australia, in his role as a trustee for Prince Philip’s World Wide Fund for Nature, a member of the WWF-run Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, and a patron of Sustainable Population Australia, a spin-off from the Prince’s Australian Conservation Foundation. Flannery has long demanded a reduction of Australia’s population to its maximum carrying capacity which he claims is as few as six million people.
I call upon the Anglican Church to defend the Christian principle of the sanctity of human life, and oppose those who are using the Church’s name to promote the mass-murder of human beings to achieve population reduction. And they should begin by answering the following question: Given that the APAC first released this report back in March 2010 as an Anglican submission, and that it garnered much notoriety then, why has the Anglican Synod allowed this present re-release as a submission to the “Sustainable Population” inquiry? Is it because they do, in fact, support its clear genocidal content?
Yours sincerely,
Craig Isherwood
