Two Booked under the Blasphemy law
Two Christians Mushtaq Gill and his son Farrukh Mushtaq Gill residents of Gujranwala city 45 Km from Lahore were
detained Friday night under the Blasphemy Law.
Gujranwala has been the center of attention in the past for burning Churches, occupying Christian properties, killing
the Christians and falsely accusations for the Blasphemy law. Gujranwala and the surrounding areas are the hub of the
extremists. Once again the Christians are being victimized.
Mushtaq Gill, in his sixties and his young son were accused of desecrating the Quran, and were taken away by the local
police. Accusation came as some Muslims found ripped papers of the Quran in a bag near the accused residence. Mushtaq
Gill is the vice principal of a Christian Technical Training Center (CTTC) which is a part of the theological seminary
Gujranwala district of Punjab. The Police took the accused to the Commissioner Road Police station for initial
questioning. According to the reports the FIR has not been registered, as the police is investigating the matter. The
arrest spread a wave of fear among the christian residents, meanwhile the rest of the family members fled for their
safety and took shelter with friends and families else where. Frightened family members are in a state of shock so were
unable to comment on the situation.
The relatives immediately contacted the Chairman Masihi Foundation
Mr. Haroon Barkat Masih to help resolve the situation. Senior advocate Ishaq Masih Naz Vice Chairman Masihi
Foundationwas informed immediately and he responded and tried to get in contact with the officials in the late hours.
The Blasphemy Law has been used like a tool to settle personal rivalries by Majority against Minorities. It is not clear
yet that either it is a case of personal rivalry or
a reaction of the desecration of the Quran in Florida, in the past few weeks the Christians have been victimized as a
reaction of the burning of the quran. After the investigation the police will decide to register a FIR or not. Masihi

to Asia bibi and supporting her family, also providing legal aid to Arif Masih accused of 295 C father of four along
with his brothers and sisters and their extended families who are on the run from the extremists due to continuous
threats by the extremists. Mr. Haroon Barket said, "The government has failed to control the growing extremism, protect
the properties and lives of the Christians in Pakistan. In the pas few weeks we have witnessed the growing hatred
towards the Christians, the Christians across Pakistan have been condemning the desecration of the quran, but still they
are targeted, if they condemn the desecration of the Bible, still they face the brutality. Without confirming the facts,
the Christians are assaulted and subjected to the worst torture in the name of the Blasphemy law. "
