Statement By Secretary Clinton
Serbia's National Day
On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Serbia as you celebrate your National Day this February 15.
Serbia continues to make significant steps toward European Union integration and the United States strongly supports this effort. Last October I met with civil society leaders, political leaders, journalists and activists and saw firsthand Serbia's vast potential. As a constructive neighbor and partner, Serbia has a great deal to contribute to the Western Balkans and to Europe as a whole.
The United States and Serbia have a partnership based on mutual respect and built upon more than a hundred years of relations between our people and our governments. As you celebrate your National Day, know that the United States stands with you as a partner and friend. I look forward to continuing to work together to build a brighter future.
