OECD Economic Survey of Slovenia
The OECD’s latest economic survey of Slovenia, to be published on Friday 18 February 2011, looks at how the country is gradually emerging from the global recession, as well as factors that can boost sustainable recovery. The report discusses the need for comprehensive pension reform and details policies to improve education, promote innovation and create a friendlier environment for foreign direct investment. The survey will be available to journalists in English on the OECD's password-protected website at 11:00 a.m. Paris time (10.00 GMT) for immediate release.
The report will be presented during a high-level seminar the same day starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Congress Centre in Brdo Pri Kranju, Slovenia. Participants will include Slovenia’s Minister for Development and European Affairs Mr. Mitja Gaspari, Minister of Finance Mr Franc Križanič, Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Mr. Ivan Svetlik and Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Mr. Gregor Golobič.
The seminar will conclude with a news conference featuring Mr. William White, chair of the OECD Economic and Development Review Committee, and Slovenia’s Minister for Development and European Affairs Mitja Gaspari at 13:30 p.m.
