Australian Bosses Visit Queensland’s 11th Brigade in East Timor
Twenty one Australian bosses who employ reservists are travelling to East Timor today as part of Exercise Boss Lift.
Exercise Boss Lift is a Defence program organised and run by the Cadet, Reserve and Employer Support Division (CRESD). It is designed to encourage employer support for Reservists.
Whilst in Dili and surrounds employers will see their reservists in action on Operation ASTUTE. Operation ASTUTE is the Australian Defence Force’s contribution to the International Stabilisation Force in support of the government of East Timor.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, Senator David Feeney announced that the employers will visit soldiers from Queensland’s 11th Brigade who are currently on an eight month deployment to East Timor.
Senator Feeney said: ‘The Boss Lift to East Timor shows employers what reservists do for our country.’
‘Employers work alongside reservists and see how reservists’ training and deployment builds leadership and teamwork skills.’
‘Employers gain a valuable insight into the benefits their employees bring to the civilian workplace.’
