Hindus appeal world for more aid to handle Haiti cholera outbreak

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has appealed to the international community to help Haiti in cholera crisis, where over nine hundred people have reportedly died and over 14,000 hospitalized by cholera outbreak.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that he would pray for Haiti cholera victims where the disease had reportedly spread in six out of 10 provinces and there were fears that up to 200, 000 people of Haiti could be affected by this intestinal infection.

Haiti, mostly mountainous Caribbean country with a tropical climate famous for syncretic religion Vodou, is poorest nation in the Americas. Rene Preval is the President while Jean-Max Bellerive is the Prime Minister.
