For the nineteenth consecutive time Tuesday October 26, 2010, Cuba won a significant victory in the General Assembly of the United Nations, by securing the support of the vast majority of Member States of the United Nations vote on the resolution "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba."
The resolution passed with a vote of 187 countries, with only 2 votes against USA and Israel. There were 3 abstentions, the Marshall Islands, Palau and Micronesia.
This result is an authentic sign of the
international community's support for the just demand of the
Cuban people against the blockade and genocidal policy
against against Cuba by the U.S. government and their
application of extraterritorial laws contrary to the United
Nations Charter and International Law and the rules
governing economic relations, trade and financial relations
between States.
