NZ & China Navy Engagement

The members of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC) attended The Royal New Zealand Navy and China People’s Liberation Army bands public concert today from 1200 hours to 1300 hours.

“The vibrant army bands concert was performed at Windsor Reserve, Devonport, North Shore City, Auckland the City of Naval Base” said Alton Shameem JP the Fijian Founder and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).

“The day was cloudy and about to rain, however, once the army bands started to play the music the sun was shining and people smiling and clapping away.

A huge turnout of people young, adults, school children and the old enjoyed the exciting and multi-cultural music of The Royal NZ Navy and the China People’s Liberation Army bands” said Alton Shameem the Civic Leader and Chairman of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).

“The Amy bands commenced with the song I am Sailing, Home Grown and various others and the climax was when Chinese Navy Officer sang the most beloved Maori song Pouareuare Ana.

We all had a grand time and took the opportunity to engage and touch base with the friendly and well presented New Zealand and Chinese Navy officers and the locals” said Alton Shameem the Community, National and International Leader and President of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) and the Young Executive Club (YEC).
