Delayed Departure For Emergency Supplies
Delayed Departure For Emergency Supplies For Pakistan Flood
Defence support to airlift emergency AusAID stores to flood-devastated Pakistan has been delayed due to a technical fault with one of its aircraft.
The Royal Australian Air Force's C-17A Globemaster aircraft was due to leave Amberley today (12 Aug 10).
Technicians encountered a fault whilst preparing the aircraft and the planned departure has been delayed for approximately 24 hours.
The emergency stores are now scheduled to depart tomorrow morning (13 Aug 10).
It is anticipated that a C-17A will still be delivering its load of emergency relief stores this weekend with a second sortie due to arrive in Pakistan early next week.
