West Papua betrayed once again

West Papua betrayed once again.

Joe Collins of the Australia West Papua Association (Sydney) said "it's disappointing that the Forum leaders have failed to condemn the human right abuses being committed by the Indonesian military in West Papua and have failed to grant observer status to the West Papuan people although the World Bank has been invited to become a Forum observer".

There are ongoing reports of the dangerously deteriorating situation in West Papua. Why do the PIF leaders not see that instability in West Papua could spread within the region and send a fact finding mission to West Papua to investigate the human rights situation in the territory ?

Why do the PIF leaders not emulate American Samoan Congressman Eni F.H. Faleomavaega and the 50 members of the U.S. Congress who in July signed a letter to the US President stating that there is strong indication that the Indonesian government has committed genocide against the Papuans and asking President Obama to meet with the people of West Papua during his upcoming trip to Indonesia in November.
