International AIDS Society And Partners Recognize Outstanding Researchers From Around The World At AIDS 2010

Women, Girls and HIV Investigator Prize; IAS/ANRS Young Investigator Award; IAS/CCABA Prize for Excellence in Research Related to the Needs of Children Affected by AIDS; and IAS TB/HIV Research Prize to be Presented to Pioneering Researchers from Canada, France, India, Mali, Tanzania, United Kingdom and United States

16 July 2010 (Vienna, Austria) – The International AIDS Society (IAS) announced today the ten winners of four prestigious scientific awards, to be presented at plenary sessions during the XVIII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2010). Presented by the IAS and partners, these awards recognize scientists involved in innovative HIV and AIDS research throughout the world. “The quality of work represented by the 2010 awardees is remarkable,” said IAS President Julio Montaner. “The IAS hopes to draw the world’s attention to these individuals and to their significant scientific accomplishments, as well as to the continued need for innovation in all of the major areas of HIV and AIDS research, represented by the six conference programme tracks.”
