Hindu Statesman Zed Honoured By Police Chief

Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed was bestowed “Certificate of Commendation” by Reno Police Chief on April 15 for “demonstrating excellence in civic responsibility”.

This Commendation, presented to Zed at Reno Police Headquarters in Nevada (USA) by Reno Chief of Police Michael Poehlman, read: “Through your efforts to promote interfaith dialogue in Reno, you have demonstrated excellence in civic responsibility, showing unselfish devotion to your fellow citizens to reduce conflict and violence between people of different faiths and backgrounds. Your efforts have helped to make Reno a better and safe community.” Deputy Chief of Reno Police Dave Evans and Zed’s family were also present on the occasion.

Rajan Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, has been awarded “World Interfaith Leader Award” by National Association of Interchurch and Interfaith Families in the past. Motto of Reno Police is “Your Police – Our Community”. Known as “The Biggest Little City in the World”, Reno offers top-notch outdoor adventures.
