Overwhelming Majority Do Not Believe Two-Million New Jobs Have Been Created
Flemington, NJ, January 26, 2010 – A new media study among 300 viewers of a news clip about the economic stimulus plan put into effect last February revealed that the majority of viewers (63%) reported that they have not personally seen any benefit from the plan’s funding.
The study was conducted during January 25-26 by HCD Research using its MediaCurves.com® website, to obtain viewers’ perceptions of a news clip highlighting how the funding from the economic stimulus plan has been distributed in the past year. To view detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.
The overwhelming
majority of viewers (80%) reported that they did not believe
the claim that the stimulus plan had created two-million new
jobs in the United States. In addition, viewers were split
on the proposed targeted stimulus plan, with 45% reporting
that they were in favor of the new plan and 55% indicating
that they were not in favor of the plan.
“Our
automated response curves revealed that interest levels
among viewers gradually declined as the reporter outlined
the differences between phase one and phase two of the
stimulus plan,” commented Glenn Kessler, president and
CEO, HCD Research.
