SOLO-International Press Release: Step Up, David Cameron!
Last weekend's stellar showing by Britain's National Party in local and European elections presents Conservative leader
David Cameron with an opportunity to shed his anaemic me-too policies and lead like a Churchill, notes SOLO Principal
Lindsay Perigo.
The anti-Islamic National Party gained two seats, its first ever, in the European Parliament. The ruling Labour Party
came in a disastrous third behind the resurgent Conservatives and the United Kingdom Independence Party, which would
withdraw Britain from the EU.
"Unfortunately, the National Party is just the old National Front in drag," Perigo observes. "Its switch from
anti-Semitism (leader Nick Griffin once called the Holocaust the 'Hoax of the Twentieth Century') to anti-Islamism is
entirely opportunistic. It would be a tragedy if the healthy distaste amongst the British public for the stinking,
stupid superstition founded by a murderous paedophile that is Islam were to be diverted and perverted by this bunch of
dysfunctional fascist upstarts.
"The fact is that the Islamification of Europe is proceeding apace. Britons are rightly alarmed when they see veiled
savages demonstrating in the streets of London demanding an end to the very freedom of speech of which they are taking
advantage, holding up placards saying 'Freedom go to hell' and warning that the real Holocaust is just about to begin.
Britons are not amused when their fellows are blown up while riding the Tube. Britons who 'never never never shall be
slaves' are not impressed by the ascendancy of a doctrine that would enslave—or kill—them all.
"A sane immigration policy would stop Islamic immigration forthwith until the savages renounce Jihad worldwide. It would
diligently seek out, jail or deport domestic Muslims actively conspiring to kill people and impose dictatorship. A free
or relatively free country has no obligation to accept within its borders those actively working for freedom's
overthrow, as opposed to merely promoting anti-freedom ideas. Mr. Cameron should step up and advocate such a policy.
"At the same time, a sane pro-freedom policy would protect the right of all people to practise their religion, or no
religion, peacefully, and accord neither preference nor deference to any. It would not protect the most hate-ridden of
these religions from 'hate speech.' Mr. Cameron should undertake to repeal the section of the Public Order Act under
which Mr. Griffin was once convicted for his anti-Semitic ranting, and all similar legislation. He should reiterate that
Britain stands for freedom of speech, even of offensive speech, for all.
"Mr. Cameron should remind himself that the greatest of his predecessors, Winston Churchill, did not hesitate to call
Islam what it is. He should repeat Churchill's prescient words: 'How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on
its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this
fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of
agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule
or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The
fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or
a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among
men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development
of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a
militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every
step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had
vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.'
"By such an uncharacteristic display of testicular fortitude Mr. Cameron could channel the voting public's disgust with
Islamofascism's assault on traditional freedoms in a healthy direction, and fair pulverise the already-shattered Labour
Government at the next election. Mr. Cameron's performance thus far has been that of a eunuch. This is his opportunity
to grow a pair and prosper politically," Perigo concludes.
