Nablus Interfaith prayer service for Gaza
Wednesday 14th January: Nablus Interfaith prayer service for Gaza
For Immediate Release:
At 1pm on Wednesday 14th January, a joint prayer for the victims in Gaza will take place at the Gaza solidarity tent (Safe place for Gaza) in the center of Nablus.
The prayer service will be led by a group of priests, imams and rabbis from the city, as part of the ongoing solidarity activities with the people of Gaza. The service will be attended by representatives from different political factions and civil society institutions, as well as residents of Nablus.
The prayer aims to promote unity in Palestine in the face of the Israeli massacre and ongoing occupation of Palestine, by having representatives from the three religions of the city, as well as representatives from various political parties and civil society organisations.
The Nablus-Gaza solidarity tent was established in the city circle of Nablus on 8th December, in response to the Israeli massacre in Gaza, which has killed more than 900 Palestinians in just over two weeks. The tent provides an open, non-factional space to commemorate those who have been killed in Gaza, and has become a focal point for Nablus' ongoing demonstrations against the massacre.
