Prime Minister Bainimarama Extends Sympathies To China
Prime Minister Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama has extended his sympathies to the People's Republic of China for the suffering experienced in Southern China.
Commodore Bainimarama has written to Premier Wen Jiabao of the People's Republic of China conveying his profound sadness at the suffering by millions of people in Southern China, who have been continually exposed to harsh wintry weather conditions over the past month.
On the same token, Prime Minister Commodore Bainimarama has thanked the Government of the People's Republic of China for continuing to play an integral part in strengthening Fiji-China mutual friendship and bilateral relations.
"My Government also accepts with great humility and appreciation your recent grant of US$200,000 to assist in rural development work and relief efforts following Cyclone Gene which caused widespread devastation to Fiji last week," he said.
This morning PM Commodore Bainimarama and H E Cai Jinbiao, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Fiji officially sealed and signed the handover documents for the donation.
