MFA Press Statement On Pakistan, 28 December 2007
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in Pakistan.
Singaporeans intending to travel to Pakistan should reconsider their travel plans if there are no pressing reasons for them to do so at this stage. Should they decide to travel to Pakistan, they should closely monitor news on developments there. They should register with the Ministry through its website at www.mfa.gov.sg. This will enable MFA to contact Singaporeans and render them the necessary consular assistance. They are also encouraged to purchase comprehensive travel insurance.
Singaporeans already in Pakistan should take all necessary precautions for their personal safety. They are advised to monitor the news, remain in a safe location and avoid areas where there is risk of disturbance.
