USA Weather: Santa Greeted By Santa Ana Winds
Santa Greeted by Santa Ana Winds
AccuWeather.com reports Santa may have a bumpy ride in Southern California with the next Santa Ana wind event unfolding.
High pressure will build into the west coast tonight, ramping up wind gusts in excess of 70 mph in the coastal ranges of
Southern California.
The event will last into Christmas Day and could cause some damage such as downing trees.
Winds through Tuesday in the High Desert and the mountains, canyons and passes of Southern California will be as high as
50 mph. Gusts in some areas could reach or top 80 mph.
Another windy spot on Christmas Day will be across the southern Plains with a developing storm system in the southern
Rockies. The central Rockies will have some snow with this new disturbance. The northern Plains will also have a bit of
snow with a slowly-moving cold front that is expected to be around the area.
The Northeast will be quiet and dry with high pressure in control. The Northwest will be dampened by the next storm
system in the train, while a developing storm off of the Southeast coast will bring some rain to the coastal Carolinas
and showers to Florida.
