134 of Australia's Future Army Leaders Graduate
142 Staff Cadets will be graduating this Tuesday from the Royal Military College, Duntroon. 134 of these, from all states of Australia, will graduate as Lieutenants in the Australian Army. The remaining graduates are overseas students who will each commission into their respective Army.

* TIME: 9:30am for the Graduation Parade. Media are advised to arrive no later than 9:10am at Patterson Hall at the top of Staff Cadet Avenue with photo ID to collect biographical details of the major prize winners.
His Excellency, the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffery, AC, CVO, MC, is the reviewing officer for the Graduation Parade and is himself a graduate of the RMC Class of 1958.
The Governor General will be presenting the Sword of Honour to Senior Under Officer (SUO) Ryan Sharp during the Parade. The Sword of Honour is awarded for exemplary conduct and performance of duty.
He will also present the Queen's Medal to Colour Sergeant Jarrod Turner. This award is for the Staff Cadet ranking first amongst the graduates.
The graduating class comprises cadets who have graduated from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 2006 and have completed 12 months of training at RMC, as well as cadets who commenced officer training in July 2006. This latter group includes former soldiers, graduates of a variety of universities as well as cadets who joined the army from the work force.
Noted guests at the Parade will be members of nine reunion groups, with graduates from the RMC class of 1947 celebrating the 60th anniversary of their graduation. Other groups are the RMC and OCS Classes of 1957, celebrating their 50th anniversary, and RMC Classes of 1967, 1977, 1987 and 1982.
Graduates will commence duty as officers in Australian Army Units early in the new year.
