Paris Bomb Blast Kills One
A parcel bomb exploded at a lawyers' office in downtown Paris Thursday killing one person and injuring another. Lisa Bryant has more from the French capital.
The bomb exploded in a building housing the old law office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy as well as a foundation dedicated to the Holocaust.
Pierre Ponos, one of the lawyers at the office, told France Info radio what happened.
Ponos said there were two parcel bombs. He said one exploded throwing one person to the ground, apparently the office secretary who later died. The Associated Press news agency reported it was the secretary who opened the package next to a lawyer, Olivier Brane, who was wounded. Some news reports say the parcel was address to Brane.
French Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie condemned the attack as "cowardly and odious." Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe also condemned the attack. Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
