Putin Congratulates Thai King On His 80 Birthday

Published: Thu 6 Dec 2007 09:46 AM
President Vladimir Putin congratulated King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej on his eightieth birthday.
The President's telegram reads, in particular:
"I have warm memories of our meeting in Bangkok in 2003, a meeting which made a great impression on my wife and I. We greatly value Your Majesty's contribution to strengthening the traditionally friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Thailand."
"This year we are celebrating the 110th anniversary of these relations. Convincing evidence of the strength of our ties was your decision to send to Russia as your representative Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, whose successful visit to Moscow and St Petersburg gave a great boost to developing our bilateral relations."
"I am confident that our relations, built on the principles of mutual trust and respect, will continue to develop for the good of our peoples and in the interest of peace and stability throughout the Asia-Pacific region."
