Int'l Defence Cricket Challenge Bowls Into Canberra
WHAT: Launch of the International Defence Cricket Challenge.
WHEN: 10:45am for 11:00am, Friday 16 November 2007.
WHERE: Manuka Oval, Manuka Circuit, Manuka ACT
BACKGROUND:
The inaugural International Defence Cricket Challenge tournament will feature teams from the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force, along with four teams from the New Zealand and United Kingdom Defence Forces.
The tournament will run from 19-23 November 2007, with the grand final to be played at Manuka Oval. The grand final will also be the scene for the inaugural reunion of past Combined Services cricketers, including the Commanding Officer of the 1945 Australian Services side.
The event launch will be attended by Australian Services Cricket Association President Brigadier Stephen Dunn and tournament director Lieutenant Colonel James Brownlie, along with representatives of the teams and Defence Forces.
Parking is off Manuka Circuit. A Defence representative will be waiting outside the Bradman stand to take you onto the pitch for the media conference.
