Statement on Lebanon at the Istanbul Joint Neighbors Conference
Today, we have gathered to reaffirm our desire for successful Lebanese presidential elections. We expect that Lebanon will elect a new president who represents an independent and sovereign Lebanon and who will uphold relevant international resolutions.
The international community is united in support of free and fair Lebanese presidential elections held according to Lebanon's constitution. Interference or intimidation in the electoral process is not acceptable.
International support for Lebanon and its people is strong and non-negotiable. We look forward to welcoming a new Lebanese president who will strengthen Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and democracy.
