World Future Council pays tribute to Anita Roddick
Following the sudden death of Anita Roddick, founder of the Body Shop and member of the World Future Council, Executive Committee Chair, Bianca Jagger commented,
"I am deeply saddened to hear the news about the loss of our Council member, Anita Roddick. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time. As the founder of the Body Shop, Anita Roddick was a true pioneer who successfully combined ethical commitment to environmental sustainability and entrepreneurship."
Everyone at the World Future Council will always be very grateful for the inspiration Anita Roddick gave during the organisation's formative stage and founder Jakob von Uexküll said,
"Anita Roddick was a highly effective campaigner on human rights and the social responsibilities of business. Her death is an enormous loss. She leaves a legacy that touches us all".
