Government And City Council Meet To Iron Out Differences
A government delegation led by Minister of Lands Reverend Leslie Boseto last week met with members of the Honiara City Council to sort out differences over the establishment of new Honiara City Planning board.
At the meeting, both parties agreed to closely consult each other on issues of common interest.
Some of the issues discussed included the proposed Honiara City Planning Scheme and the China Town Redevelopment Program.
China town – the city’s lively commercial center was destroyed during the April riots.
The new Honiara Town and Country Planning Board will be headed by City Major Alfred Maetia.
