Sneak Preview Of 'Army In Concert' 2007 Musical Extravaganza

What: A sneak preview of the 'Army in Concert' 2007 as the 60-strong combined bands of the Royal Military College and the Army Band Sydney conduct their final rehearsal with the star of Australian Stage Musicals - Silvie Paladino.

Army and Legacy spokespeople will provide information on the 'Army in Concert' fundraiser.

Where: RMC Band Centre, 1 Plant Road, Duntroon ACT

When: Tuesday, 14th August 2007 at 3 pm. Media representatives are to meet Sergeant Graeme Reynolds with photo ID upon entering the Band Centre.

Background:

The 60-strong combined bands of the Royal Military College, Duntroon and Australian Army Band Sydney will join forces at the Canberra Theatre on the 15th August 2007 at 7.30pm for 'Army in Concert'.

All proceeds will go to aid Legacy as they provide much-needed support to war widows and families of war veterans. Legacy also supports the dependants of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of service.

The bands will be joined on stage by star of Australian Stage Musicals - Silvie Paladino. Silvie has appeared in Les Miserables, CATS, Hair, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia and more recently the world premiere of Sideshow Alley.

She has performed with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras and is well known to Australian television audiences. Silvie is also a regular performer at Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Tickets to this special event are $45.00 general admission and $35.00 for concession and groups of 12 or more.
