The Australian
Safari: 24 Aug - 1 September 2007 (Western Australia)
The
Australian Safari is one of the world’s most challenging
cross-country rallies and 2007 will mark the 20th
anniversary of the event. Often referred to as the
‘Dakar’ of the southern hemisphere the event invites
participants in cars, motor bikes and quads to take part.

ASSA ABLOY Henley-On-Todd
Regatta: 25 August 2007 (Northern Territory)
This is
truly a boat race with a difference! The ASSA ABLOY
Henry-On-Todd Regatta is a day of fun where individuals and
team race their ‘boats’ on the dry bed of the Todd River
in Alice Springs. Originating in 1962, enjoy the hilarity as
you watch seemingly sane people race in bottomless 'eights',
'oxford tubs', 'bath tubs' and yachts through the deep
coarse sand.

Riverfestival
Brisbane: 31 Aug - 9 September 2007 (Queensland)
A
celebration of a natural landmark the Brisbane River,
Riverfestival is a week long event. Featuring art,
environmental science and sport activities held at outdoor
venues around Brisbane. Highlights include the
Riversymposium and the spectacular Riverfire.

The Birdsville Races: 31 Aug
-1 September 2007 (Queensland)
The annual Birdsville Cup
Racing Carnival was first held in1882 as an event for hack
and stock horses with a few local spectators. The world
famous outback carnival now includes a 12-race programme.
Situated three kilometres to the South East of the town the
track itself is on a clay pan alongside the sand dunes.
Other entertainment includes the AKUBRA Fashions of the
Field, Fred Brophy's Boxing Troupe, whip cracking, sideshow
and auction.

ACT Holden Day:
9 September 2007 (Australian Capital Territory)
If you
love the power and beauty of mean machines, this is the

Australian Springtime Flora
Festival: 6 – 9 September 2007 (New South Wales)
This
award-winning event is one of the largest and most popular
flora events in Australia. Interspersed among the flora
displays and landscaped garden settings, will be displays by
associated commercial suppliers who help to provide the
visitor with a total picture of outdoor, garden and home
living. There will be over 300 displays to

Royal Adelaide Show: 7
- 15 September 2007 (South Australia)
The Royal Adelaide
Show is South Australia's biggest annual event. Experiences
run the whole gamut from carnival rides, exhibitions and
attractions to exquisite handicraft, cookery and wide
variety of champion livestock and animals. It is at the Show
that rural South Australia and City business alike can
showcase their best produce, wares and services.

Back to Birdum: 8 - 9 September
2007 (Northern Territory)
Train enthusiasts will
celebrate the anniversary of the first steam train to the
end of the Never Never line on 4 September 1929. This
historic pilgrimage starts at the Larrimah Wayside Inn and
travels to the Daly Waters Railway Terrace, where the line
was originally supposed to end.

Buller World Aerials: 8 - 9 September 2007
(Victoria)
Watch the world's top aerial skiers twist,
flip and soar for glory on the slopes at the Mount Buller
snowfields in Victoria's High Country. Jacqui Cooper, world
number one female aerialist, returns to start the aerial
world cup circuit at her home mountain, Mt
Buller.

Feast of the
Olive, Pokolbin: 29 – 30 September 2007 (New South
Wales)
The Feast of the Olive in the Hunter Valley
celebrates all things olive including oil appreciation
classes, cooking demonstrations, market stalls where you can

other gourmet delights.

Bay to
Birdwood: 30 September 2007 (South Australia)
The Bay to
Birdwood Run for historic motoring vehicles is the largest
most continually staged event of its kind anywhere in the
world with an average of 1500-1600 entrant vehicles
including cars, motorcycles, trucks and vans. All entrant
vehicles must have been manufactured pre-1955.
