Conference follows ITF and AP Moller-Maersk talks

Joint press conference follows ITF and AP Moller-Maersk talks

On April 23 and 24 trade union leaders representing AP Moller-Maersk employees from 32 unions in 22 countries will be meeting at the headquarters of 3F, the Danish transport and general workers’ union, in Copenhagen, Denmark. On the morning of 24 April, Knud Pontoppidan, Senior Vice President of AP Moller-Maersk, will address the labour conference. Following his presentation there will be a press conference during which representatives from AP Moller-Maersk and the ITF (International Transport Workers’ Federation) will report on a new initiative that has led to an ongoing dialogue between the company and the global union federation.

The press conference will be held at 12:00 on 24 April 2007 at 3F, Kampmannsgade 4, 1790 Copenhagen. Speakers will include:

Randall Howard, ITF President and President of the South African Transport Workers Union (SATAWU)
Stuart Howard, ITF Assistant General Secretary
Henrik Berlau, Secretary, Transport Section, 3F
