OECD annual ministerial meeting

OECD annual ministerial meeting to discuss globalization, innovation and trade

The OECD will hold its annual Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris on 15-16 May 2007 to discuss economic and trade issues and review ways of strengthening the involvement of non-OECD countries in the Organisation’s work.

The meeting, at OECD headquarters (2, rue André Pascal, 75116 Paris), will be chaired by Spain's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Solbes, with Japan and Poland as vice-chairs. Issues to be discussed include: globalisation, growth and equity; innovation and growth; enlargement of the OECD and enhanced engagement with selected non-OECD countries; and future challenges for an open global trading system.

In parallel, the OECD Forum 2007 “Innovation, Growth and Equity” will bring together leaders of governments, business, labour, civil society and the media to debate the issues on the Ministerial agenda. The Forum will take place on 14-15 May 2007 at Palais Brongniart, Place de la Bourse, Paris; for details see http://www.oecd.org/Forum2007.
