RAMSI Special Coordinator defends Solicitor General
RAMSI Special Coordinator James Batley today defended the RAMSI-funded Solicitor General, Mr Nathan Moshinsky QC, following comments by the Prime Minister on 19 October.
Mr Batley described Mr Moshinsky as a highly experienced and respected legal professional who was working hard to uphold the laws of Solomon Islands.
“Mr Moshinsky is making a first rate contribution to the re-establishment of the rule of law in Solomon Islands” Mr Batley said.
“As Solicitor General, Mr Moshinsky has appeared in the High Court representing the government and people of Solomon Islands in many important and significant cases.”
Mr Batley said Mr Moshinsky, who was made a Queens Counsel in 1988, has had an impeccable career as a barrister of the Melbourne Bar. He has also appeared as a QC in many courts throughout the region.
