Australian Archbishop Adrian Doyle says mass to 10,000 IDPs in Dili.

Head of Caritas Australia’s governing body, Archbishop Adrian Doyle, is in East Timor today meeting with politicians and community leaders.

On Sunday 17th September, at 7am, Archbishop Doyle will visit and say mass with the thousands of Internally Displaced People (IDP) at the Don Bosco IDP camp on the outskirts of Dili.

Caritas Australia has a long history of working in East Timor and has taken on further responsibility following the recent conflict. The Caritas Australia office in East Timor has in excess of 40 staff and is heavily engaged with peace-building following the recent upheavals.

In addition, Caritas Australia is engaged in East Timor with the delivery of basic services and food to IDP camps and to others impacted by the conflict
