Send the Bush Crimes Commission to Texas

Send the Bush Crimes Commission to Texas and Camp Casey!

With your help, we will be taking the Bush Crimes Commission right to George Bush's front door.

On Sunday, August 20, the panel below will speak at the First Unitarian-Universalist Church in Austin, Texas. Then, the next day, the panel will drive up to Camp Casey, Cindy Sheehan's encampment outside the Summer White House, in Crawford, Texas, to make another presentation to antiwar activists gathered there.

See and Hear:

Ray McGovern, is a retired CIA officer turned political activist. McGovern was a Federal employee under seven U.S. presidents over 27 years and presented the morning intelligence briefings at the White House for many years. With 15 other VIPS, McGovern participated in a protest of torture and returned his Intelligence Commendation Award medallion. He argued that he did "not wish to be associated, however remotely, with an agency engaged in torture." In May, McGovern challenged Donald Rumsfeld at a public forum.

Ann Wright, was in the U.S. Army for 29 years and retired as a colonel. Then she spent 16 years in the U.S. diplomatic corps; served in Somalia, Sierra Leone, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan and reopened the U.S. embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan in December 2001. She was one of the three diplomats who resigned in March 2003 in opposition to the war in Iraq. She now counts herself in the rank of the peacemakers, not the war makers.

Larry Everest, author of Oil, Power and Empire: Iraq and the U.S. Global Agenda. Everest has covered the Middle East and Central Asia for over 20 years for Revolution newspaper and other publications. "There is no 'war on terror. ' The invasion and occupation of Iraq are not part of a 'war on terror' . . . What does exist is a horrific and criminal U.S. war OF terror against the people of the world for greater empire. "

To send this amazing team to Texas, we need $1,100 right away. Please help make this possible with your contribution on line at www.nion.us/NSOC/sign.htm or make your check payable to Not In Our Name and mail to Not In Our Name, 305 West Broadway #199, New York, NY 10013.

Your on-going support will make possible the final verdict of the Commission to the nation in September and fostering increasing public debate over whether this government has in fact committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.
