Art exhibition June 2 - 17, 2006 Opening Reception June 2 from 5:00 ­ 9:00 p.m. More than 50 Chicago-area artists are joining together for an art exhibition called Opt In: Revisioning America!

The Chicago Music Garage, 345 N. Loomis Ave. in Chicago.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 2 from 5:00- 9:00 p.m. There will be live performance, music, and magic, as part of the program. The exhibition will feature artists such as E.W. Ross, whose 30 poster-size images of the Bill of Rights that have been altered by local artists will be displayed. Other artists include Hugh Spector, Oli Watt, Nomeda Grumada, Algimantas Kezys, Sue Summers, Mark Nelson, and many others.
Tom Tresser, the Lead Organizer and Founder of the Creative America Project, ( www.creativeamerica.us) will present three interactive workshops mixing art, creativity and civic engagement:

- Saturday 6/3, 12-2pm: "Artists and Creative Professionals as Civic Leaders" - we'll show you why and how.

- Saturday 6/10, 11am-1pm: "Branding Creativity" - join us to create powerful messages communicating the benefits of creativity.

- Saturday 6/17, 12-2pm: "Launching the Creativity Party" - participate in the invention of a new political party for 2008 - one that places creativity at the center of its message and program.

Opt In, the brainchild of longtime Chicago artist Hugh Spector, is an artist created and run project whose mission is to provide a venue for other artists to have a voice in creating a positive change in the political landscape. www.spectorstorybox.com The show will take place in the Chicago Music Garage, a newly converted warehouse that houses more than 108 soundproof studios for Chicago musicians, and is the first studio space of its kind in the Midwest. http://www.musicgarage.com/TMG9.html
