Israeli Troops Wound a Teen Boy in Deir Elbalah
DEIR ELBALAH, Palestine, January 18, 2005 (IPC+ Agencies)-- Abdullah Jalal Hassan,15 years-old, from the middle Gaza Strip city of Deir Elbalah, was shot and wounded by the Israeli troops on Tuesday morning, local medical sources said.
Following the closure of the Salah Eldin road,
connecting between northern and southern Gaza Strip by the
Israeli troops, the Israeli soldiers, manning the illegal
Israeli settlement of Kfar Darom and the Abu Holi
checkpoint, opened fire indiscriminately on the Palestinian
passersby, wounding the abovementioned teen boy, witnesses
said.
Hundreds of civilian Palestinian vehicles have been stopped by the Israeli soldiers at the Abu Holi checkpoint, witnesses added.
In the meantime, the Israeli troops arrested on Tuesday dawn six Palestinian civilians from the northern Gaza Strip village of Beduin, local sources said.
West Bank
The Israeli troops detained today dawn three Palestinian civilians from the Ramallah City, after breaking into several Palestinian-owned houses.
Witnesses said that an Israeli contingent stormed the Qibya village, west of the City, and arrested Abdulhafed Al-Sa'dy,43, and swept into the Beit Reema village, north of the city, arresting Mohammad Al-Barghouthi,27.
In the Nablus City, the Israeli troops took over today a local building and turned it into a military outpost, after breaking into the Nablus downtown, witnesses said.
In a related development, the Israeli troops closed the Al-Aghwar area, middle of the Tubas town, and barred access of inhabitants to and from the area.
In the northern city of Tulkarem, the Israeli troops arrested two Palestinian residents at local military checkpoints, witnesses said.
Concurrently, an Israeli contingent swept into the Ektaba village, east of the city, and deployed intensively throughout the Anabta village. No arrests were reported, witnesses told the IPC correspondent.
