Internationals arrested in Kafr Ein
REPORT: Army incursion into traumatised village of Kafr Ein. Internationals called Richard Minns and Janne Andersen have just been detained and handcuffed by soldiers. IWPS still monitoring the situation.
The village has been invaded at least four times in the last month. Villagers have been forced out of their homes at night for hours and made to empty all their possessions into the street. Over 400 litres of olive oil has been tipped over possessions and inside houses, possessions have been damaged. The villagers called IWPS to stay in the village as they were worried about the threats made to do more damage.
Tonight at 11.30a.m. three jeeps entered the village and IWPS made themselves obvious and asked the soldiers what they were doing. Janne Andersen from Denmark and Richard Manns from the UK were handcuffed and taken away in an army jeep.
Please call the DCL and ask why internationals have been detained, where they have been taken and why the army continually has incursions into this village. The army has no legal right to arrest internationals.
