Israel Arrests Suicide Bomber's Driver
The ISA and the Israel Police arrested Um al Fahm resident who has since admitted to driving Palestinian suicide terrorist Hanadi Jaradat from the Bartaa area to the restaurant.
The ISA and the Israel Police, in a joint
operation, on 4.10.2003, in the
wake of the suicide
bombing of the Maxim Restaurant in Haifa earlier in the
day, in which 23 people (including three children and a
baby girl) were
murdered and over 60 people were
wounded, arrested Um al Fahm
resident Jamal Mahajaneh,
who has since admitted to driving Palestinian
suicide
terrorist Hanadi Jaradat from the Barta’a area to the
restaurant.
Mahajaneh had been known to the security
authorities as a driver who was
engaged in smuggling
Palestinian residents of Judea, Samaria and Gaza to
inside Israeli territory. In September 2003, he had been
warned not to
engage in such illegal activities.
