Arab Canadian Sues Israeli Government For Racial Profiling, Illegal Arrest
Thursday, October 30, 2003 [Beit Sahour, West Bank]
International Solidarity Movement volunteer Mostafa Henaway of Canada will testify Sunday, November 2 in his suit against the Israeli Government. Mr. Henaway, who was stopped by Israeli police on October 15 while entering a taxi in Israel, is suing for false arrest, emotional distress, negligence, and violation of arrest procedure.
His suit stems from over 30 hours of abusive interrogation and transfer from police station to police station. During interrogation, police repeatedly accused Mr. Henaway of being a terrorist and working with terrorists due to his Arab origin and religious affiliation. He was never formally arrested or charged.
We invite News agencies, Israelis, and Internationals to attend this hearing in support of Mostafa Henaway.
