France Says Israeli Raid In Syria Breached Int. Law
Statement by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Israeli operation which targeted a site near Damascus, today, Sunday 4 October, constitutes an unacceptable violation of international law and the rules of sovereignty.
In a Middle East rendered vulnerable by the crises, it is the responsibility of everyone, especially the region's States, not to add to the instability and tension.
The battle against terrorism, in which France is resolutely engaged, must be carried out with due regard for international law.
France issues an appeal for restraint so that common sense prevails over the risks of escalation.
