IOF Strikes A Palestinian House, Killing One and Wounding Three Others
AL NUSSEIRAT, Palestine, Sep 18,2003 , (IPC+Agencies)-- Jihad Abu Sewereh, 35, was killed as well as seven others, including an infant, were wounded when the Israeli occupation forces swept Thursday dawn into Al Nasserite refugee camp, middle of Gaza Strip, IPC correspondent said.
Palestinian medical sources at Al Aqsa Martyr local hospital declared that the body of Jihad Abu Sewerh was ripped into shreds, his 86 -year -old father was critically wounded , an infant boy as well.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli helicopters have been highly hovering while the Israeli military tanks and convoys invaded Al Sawarha neighborhood , west of Al Nasserite, and struck Abu Sewerh’s house with three missiles.
More than 20 Israeli convoys steered from the illegitimate Jewish settlement of Nitzarim, south of Gaza city, to the Al Sawarha area, covered with helicopter gunship, and under a barrage of heavy machinegun fire as the Israeli tanks rolled into the area before , then an Israeli military helicopter struck the Abu Sewerh’s house, eyewitnesses added.
They accounted also that a couple of nearby houses were damaged.
In a related development, a wide-scale house to house searching campaign was carried out by IOF today morning in Palestinian neighborhoods, close to al Muqata’, the headquarter of President Yasser Arafat in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Al-jazeera Arab Seattleite Qatar-based television reported.
Meanwhile, IOF invaded Tuesday dawn Jenin city and its refugee camp , imposing, via a loudspeaker, a curfew for further notice, WAFA reported.
Several explosions have been heard in the heart of Jenin, while a contingent of Israeli troop stormed the civilians’ houses and messed up with furniture.
In Rafah, seven Palestinian civilians were wounded Wednesday night, one in critical condition, when Israeli troops incurred into the Al-barazil nieghborhood, just south of Rafah city, IPC Correspondent said.
Tens of Israeli convoys, accompanied by two military bulldozers, advanced deep into the adjacent area of the border line with Egypt under indiscriminate shootings and tanks missiles. As a result, seven Palestinians were wounded.
Local Palestinian medical sources said that among the wounded was Ibraheem Al Rantisi, 24, whose wounds were critical.
Dr. Ali Mossa. Director of the Abu Yousef Alnajjar local hospital stated that Al Rantis’s body was hit with shrapnel of an Israeli tank missile and that his condition is serious.
The said developments came just 24 hours after United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council’s resolution, demanding Israel not to expel President Yasser Arafat, a thing viewed by observers as further US backing to Israeli practices throughout the Occupied Palestinain Territories (IPC).
