Chancellor Schröder scheduled to fly to New York
Chancellor Gerhard Schröder will be in New York on September 23 and 24 where he will take part in the UN General Assembly.
On September 23rd Chancellor Schröder will host a reception marking the 30th anniversary of Germany's membership in the United Nations. On the 24th he is scheduled to speak before the UN General Assembly. He will also attend the NEPAD conference of African heads of state and government. A number of bilateral meetings are also on the Chancellor's agenda.
Responding to journalists on August 14, Schröder said he did not rule out the possibility that there could be a meeting with President George W. Bush on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly but noted that there are no concrete plans for such a meeting at the present time.
