United States, Chile Reach Free Trade Agreement
The White House announced May 28 that the United States and Chile have reached a free trade agreement. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick and Maria Soledad Alvear Valenzuela, the Chilean Foreign Minister will sign the agreement in Miami, Florida on June 6.
White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, who made the announcement, heralded the agreement as "an important accomplishment and another advance for free trade around the world."
