1-Correction

In our release concerning the "March to Mas'ha to Defend the Peace Camp from the Apartheid Wall", we regrettably made two errors: The correct spelling is B'tselem for the group we listed as Betselem, and the correct website for the Gush Shalom website is http://www.gush-shalom.org.

We apologize for these errors.

2-Israeli Forces Severely Injure Two Men During Home Invasion

06 May 03

[Tulkaram Camp, TULKARAM] The Israeli Army violently entered a Palestinian home at about 5AM early Tuesday morning, severely injuring two men in the operation and arresting one. ISM volunteers (American, Dutch, Irish, Italian and Palestinian) arrived on the scene shortly after the army had left, after reports that an ambulance had been denied access to the wounded men by the army. Ambulance personnel reported that the Israeli forces threatened to open fire on them if they attempted to proceed into the refugee camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers forced their entry into the home by exploding the front door without warning. Two men, aged 24 and 28, who were sleeping in the front room sustained severe injuries due to flying debris including a skull fracture and right forearm laceration with nerve and tendon damage. Doctors are unsure if the men will fully recover. The two men were taken away by the army but were later released to the Thabit Thabit hospital in Tulkaram. A third man remains in custody of the Israeli Army.
