Killing Children is Daily Israeli Practice
Date: 12/11/2002
Nafez Khaled Meshaal, 2- year- old boy, Mohammed Refaa't Abu ElNaja, 8, and Alaa' Ahmad Kleibi, 9, are all Palestinian children sharing a common thing; they were all targeted by Israeli occupation gun fire in one day. While both Moahammed and Nafez were murdered by the IOF bullets, Alaa' suffered severe head damage, and skull fractures. The Israeli occupation's policy of targeting children with their machine guns, either mounted on heavily armored super tanks, or behind thick cement walled barracks, have never changed since the outbreak of the Intifada in September 2000.
More than 375 children under 18 years of age were murdered by Israeli occupation forces until now, most of which were either inside their homes, or playing with other children in front of them.
Mohammed Meshaal, uncle of one of the killed children in the Gaza strip city of Rafah, Nafez Khaled Meshaal, told our correspondent yesterday that there was no fighting when Nafez was killed. "He was playing with a small ball, when suddenly we came under fire", he added "When we looked for the child, we found him lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood".
Medical sources said that Nafez died from a bullet wound in the back. They also said that two other children, aged 4 and 8, were moderately injured.
On the other hand, Mohammed Refaa't Abu ElNaja died of wounds sustained on October 17 in Rafah, medical sources added. Alaa' Ahmad Kleibi was critically injured in the head in Tulkarem camp, when IOF soldiers randomly opened fire on the Palestinian citizens in the camp, in the West bank city of Tulkarem. He was rushed to Rafidia hospital in the city of Nablus.
In addition to killing innocent children, the IOF have made it a habit to shell residential blocks all over the Palestinian territories. Last night, the Israeli occupation tanks fired eight tank shells at Al-Zahraa' town, south of Gaza City, which damaged many civilian houses there.
All these new aggressions of the Israeli occupation forces come in light of the US envoy's visit to the Middle East, to push the new American "roadmap", which entails reciprocal steps by both sides, Palestinian reforms, and Israeli military withdrawal, leading to the establishing of a Palestinian state by the year 2005.
