Update 6 - ADF support to Bali explosion victims
A RAAF C-130 Hercules departed Darwin today at
3:00pm (AEST) bound for Bali to support a casualty
evacuation request for four Indonesian nationals back to
Perth for specialist care.
Each patient was accompanied by a family member. An Indonesian doctor and nurse accompanied them on the flight. The expected departure time from Bali is 7:50pm (AEST).
The expected arrival in Perth is early on Saturday the 19 Oct 02 at approximately 1.30am (AEST). ( Departure from Denpasar is dependant upon the preparation time required for the casualties)
The evacuation has been made in support of a request from the Indonesian Government.
The five refrigeration containers deployed on Monday 14 Oct 02 have been replaced by a larger 20ft refrigerated container at the request of Australian authorities in Bali. Replacement occurred on the evening of Thu 17 Oct 02 and morning of Fri 18 Oct 02.
A C-130 had previously delivered a forklift at Denpasar airport on Thursday in preparation for delivery of the larger 20ft refrigerator container last night.
Four ADF psychologists have been deployed by civil airline to provide counselling to Embassy Staff in Jakarta. A second psychologist team which will arrive in country late today, Friday, will support Consulate staff in Bali.
Four RAAF air movements staff were established at Denpasar during operations late Thursday. These personnel are there to assist in the management and preparation of personnel and material for transportation on service aircraft.
Australian Federal Police had an additional four forensic staff transported to Denpasar today.
