Aziz meets with French delegation
Baghdad, Sept. 18, INA
Deputy Premier Tareq Aziz has met Tuesday with parliamentary delegation headed by French MP Nitri Marties Secretary General of Gathering Party.
Relation with France and means of developing them in the light of the two countries’ interests were discussed.
Mr. Aziz affirmed that Iraq has met all obligations relevant to the UN resolutions while the Security Council should, in return, meet its part of the said resolutions and lift the crippling sanctions imposed on its people which lost its justifications. He also reviewed US claims and pretexts to launch a new aggression on Iraq.
For their part, the French MP and the accompanying delegation asserted that this visit is to reveal solidarity with Iraq remarking that they do their best to prevent the US aggression and lift the sanctions.
